


{"id":318804,"date":"2023-11-21T12:48:31","date_gmt":"2023-11-21T12:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/reply\/318804\/"},"modified":"2023-11-21T13:05:09","modified_gmt":"2023-11-21T13:05:09","slug":"318804","status":"publish","type":"reply","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/reply\/318804\/","title":{"rendered":"Reply To: Periodic boundary condition for droplet evaporation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&lt;p&gt;thank you so much, for compressible flow, it is recommended to use total pressure and a zero operating pressure,&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;for incompressible flow, we break the total pressure into a non-zero operating pressure and a relative pressure (the static pressure), to reduce the numerical errors&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1)what about evaporation in my problem, when using the VOF model, while the water vapor phase is considered to have a fixed density?&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<strong>in evaporation, <\/strong>shall I<strong> still use a non-zero operating density<\/strong>+<strong>static pressure<\/strong>?&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;if so, or in my case as it is open to the atmosphere, the pressure outlet BCs would be zero&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<strong>2)<\/strong>Also, in the below image, for the <strong>Boussinisque parameters<\/strong>, everything is correctly set (the <strong>minimum phase average method<\/strong>)?&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<strong>3)<\/strong>what about the <strong>operating temperature<\/strong>?&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;shall I set the evaporation temperature (the <strong>saturation temperature<\/strong>) for that which 373.15 is&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;or the <strong>hot plat temperature<\/strong> which 373.15+8 is.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;which one do you recommend?&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&nbsp;&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<strong>4)<\/strong>Technically <strong>using a fixed density<\/strong> for the <strong>vapor water<\/strong> phase is correct for <strong>evaporation<\/strong>? (in this r<strong>ange of temperature<\/strong> 373.15+8=hotplate)&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;what if the <strong>evaporation frequency<\/strong> is <strong>high<\/strong> like 10^4, Does it <strong>influence<\/strong> your answer?&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I read some discussions of your and DrAmine answers had about the evaporation frequency and LEE model&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;one that could find it now was this&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;\/forum\/forums\/topic\/source-term-in-stefan-problem\/&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I wonder if you could help me with these questions, to <strong>save <\/strong>your
