


{"id":251325,"date":"2023-02-24T00:51:40","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T00:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/reply\/251325\/"},"modified":"2023-02-24T00:51:40","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T00:51:40","slug":"251325","status":"publish","type":"reply","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/reply\/251325\/","title":{"rendered":"Reply To: Element failure &#8211; Explicit analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&lt;p&gt;Click on Analysis Settings and in the Details window, look at the settings under Erosion Controls.&nbsp; The default settings are shown below.&lt;br&gt;Erosion is the automatic removal of elements during the analysis that have exceeded the thresholds in this section.&lt;br&gt;The default setting has erosion when the strain exceeds 150% (1.5) but you can turn that off by setting Yes to No.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you define Material Failure limits in Engineering Data, then you can turn that on in this panel.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/24-02-2023-1677199455-mceclip1.png\" \/>&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I also show the Output Controls because the Result Number of Points is a setting I always change on any new analysis because 20 is way too few output frames.
