That creates a double thick wall in one direction. Did you do that in your model?<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/3e825b35-df61-45f5-9693-a81101684b62\/263fa6b4-468e-4273-8a51-a946000e761d_honeycomb.jpg?width=690&upscale=false\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p><p>Here is the test apparatus from ASTM C273 -11 Standard Test Method for Shear Properties of Sandwich Core Material.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/us.v-cdn.net\/6032193\/uploads\/attachments\/3e825b35-df61-45f5-9693-a81101684b62\/130932cf-90cd-42b9-9274-a9460013a49f_astm-c273--11-standard-test-method-for-shear-properties-of-sandwich-core-materia-2018-08-23-21-09-23.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p><p>If you don’t want to switch to Force, I recommend that you select the row of nodes on the bottom facesheet at the opposite end <\/strong>of the sandwich from the row that has the x,y constraints on the top face sheet. Use a Displacement of Y=0 to prevent rotation about the first edge. Is the sample 50 mm long? In that case, 1% strain would be 0.5 mm. Use a Displacement of X= -0.5 mm to those bottom edge nodes to put the facesheets into tension at each end. Use 100 initial and minimum substeps, 1000 substeps maximum, in the solution.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-236308","reply","type-reply","status-publish","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/replies\/236308","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/replies"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/reply"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/replies\/236308\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=236308"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
