It works in linear analyses like modal and harmonic response. Nodes on the surface cannot separate in any analysis.<br \/>\nFrictionless <strong>contact <\/strong>is a nonlinear contact. Nodes on the surface can separate. ANSYS Mechanical will automatically convert a closed frictionless contact into a frictionless support in a modal analysis, but will ignore an open frictionless contact in a modal analysis.
