Given the apparent symmetry I&#8217;d split the model.  <br \/>\nThe steps you should take now are fairly similar to an experiment, once you&#8217;ve clicked on Help and done some tutorials:<br \/>\nOn paper (A3 is good for this or A4 if your hand writing hasn&#8217;t yet degenerated!) <br \/>\nDefine the problem<br \/>\nSketch out the geometry and add ALL boundary conditions, material properties etc. Include everything you don&#8217;t know but want to. <br \/>\nSketch where you think the flow is going to go. <\/p>\n<p>Post the image of your sheet of paper. <\/p>\n<p>Open the geometry tool (you have CAD so you can use that) and create the fluid region. <br \/>\nMesh the model<br \/>\nSet up the solver &#038; run the case<br \/>\nPost process<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-206019","reply","type-reply","status-publish","hentry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO 4.9.10 - aioseo.com -->\n\t<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Given the change in surface area between the inlet and outlet I&#039;d question the benefit of trying this in 2d.
