


{"id":186215,"date":"2021-07-27T18:01:16","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T18:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"\/forum\/forums\/reply\/186215\/"},"modified":"2021-07-27T18:29:20","modified_gmt":"2021-07-27T18:29:20","slug":"186215","status":"publish","type":"reply","link":"https:\/\/innovationspace.ansys.com\/forum\/forums\/reply\/186215\/","title":{"rendered":"Reply To: LS Prepost to calculate J integral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello jday<br \/>\nThank you very much for your quick response!<br \/>\nThis time I import the d3plot and the keyword input file to LS-PrePost before proceeding to Applications>Tools>Jintegral.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/forum-uploads\/900\/260GGUQI26GD.png\" width=\"1246\" height=\"573\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I did it in following steps:<br \/>\n(1) selected the nodes on the crack edge<br \/>\n(2) selected the crack surface node(white dot) where I only selected one node on the 1\/4 ellipse surface.<br \/>\n(3) selected the Vector in X direction as the crack open direction1\/4 ellipse surface.<\/p>\n<p>Now I have 3 questions:<br \/>\nQuestion 1 for step(2): the &#8220;crack surface node&#8221;, for this case do I need to select the ellipse surface shown above or the bottom surface plane on the bottom? Is it correct to only pick only one node?<br \/>\nQuestion 2 for step(3) : If the sample is pull in Y direction, the crack opening direction here is in X? <br \/>\n                                 The crack propagate direction is in X so I am confused with the crack open direction(actually I think it should Y, but the J-integral will become negative) define in the interface.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/forum\/wp-content\/uploads\/forum-uploads\/273\/5C0TTAIMG1A0.png\" width=\"651\" height=\"464\" \/>Question 3 for dimension : dyna is dimensionless, so why the J-integral is N\/mm? How the system select the unite with out user defined it.
