When to use and not to use face mapping ?

Want to know about Face Mapping advantages and disadvantages. When to use it and not to use it ?

One of my colleagues used face mapping in Meshing on the face of the interested or analyzing component but the result was not in trending manner, but when he removed the face mapping from the face he was getting the results in trending manner.
I always check from show mappable faces. If it is mappable then I use face mapping else not.
So please kindly let me know when we have to use face mapping and not to use.

      Hi,

Face mapping is helpful when a face can be split into a regular grid of shapes, which improves mesh quality and accuracy in simulations. If the results from face mapping aren't trending as expected, it might mean that face mapping wasn't suitable for that specific geometry or analysis.

In summary, use face mapping when you have a face that is mappable and when the resulting mesh quality meets the requirements of your analysis. Avoid using face mapping when the geometry is too complex for a structured grid or when the mesh quality does not meet the necessary standards, even if the face appears mappable.

      Thanks,

      Deepak
