Two distinct peak stress points on the contact zone

Hello everyone, I did a 2-D plane stress spur gear analysis in the static structural module. The resultant contact and bending stresses make sense when I compare them with AGMA standard calculations but the problem is that maximum contact stress occurs in two different points, instead of a peak stress point. What could be the reason behind this problem other than geometry? I tried to change my geometry but it did not fix it. By the way, when I'm using bigger mesh sizes, max contact stress occurs on a single point as it should be but once I get the small mesh sizes (according to my mesh convergence study), it becomes two different points for max contact stress again.

      Hi Furkan,

Can you please share the snapshot of the setup? How the contact is taking place at this location, can you please share the snapshot? This may help members to comment more.

      Regards,

Hello Ashish, thank you for your response. I added the details of the boundary conditions and contact setup. Please let me know of you need any other details about the model.

Turn off Adjust to Touch and see if that changes the result.
