Hello, I have been trying to use ANSYS for course work, however I have been moelling a very small rectangle with a off centre semi circle cut out.Â
However when i attenpt to use the Plesol or Plnsol commands it generates the below error
I've changed the setup settings to use shared memory parallel (SMP)
Â
I downloaded the student software, but i'm unsure if i'm using the right program. Could someone help?

Hi
We can not answer if you are uisng the right program as we do not provide the course work of course.
In general one can use MAPDL like you tried or Workbench Mechanical (static system).
There are free courses on both these, which I would suggest taking:
https://innovationspace.ansys.com/product/get-started-with-ansys-mechanical/
https://innovationspace.ansys.com/product/getting-started-with-ansys-pymapdl/
All the best
Erik

Hi,
Please select the read results set under general postpoc. to read the contour plot.
See here on how that is done:
https://innovationspace.ansys.com/knowledge/forums/topic/why-is-it-important-to-use-the-setlast-command-when-reading-a-mechanical-database-in-mapdl/
See here aslo for a course on post proc. inside mapdl:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxHSnfmj5U
This can aslo be done via the graphical user interface.
Â
Thanks
Deepak
