I used "INITIAL_VELOCITY_GENERATION" to set the velocity for Part 1, but when I ran the calculation, LS-DYNA indicated that Part ID 1 is undefined in INITIAL_VELOCITY_GENERATION card. How should I resolve this issue? The version of LS-PrePost I am using is 4.11.10, and the version of LS-DYNA is R14.1.

Hello Tim,Â
It looks like the *INITAL_VELOCITY_GENERATION keyword is trying to assign a velocity to a Part (ID =1) that does not exist. Please verify the PART IDs in the model.Â
Please note that Part IDs of *CONSTRAINED_NODAL_RIGID_BODYs that do not include the INERTIA option are not recognized by the code in the case of STYP = 1 or 2. Use STYP = 3 (a node set ID) when initializing the velocity of such nodal rigid bodies.
Please let us know how it goes.ÂThank you,
Alex

I checked the model and found that PART ID 1 exists. The problem was resolved after I changed the LS-Prepost version to 4.11.2. Perhaps the problem was caused by the 4.11.10 version of LS-Prepost.
