MAT 295 raises severe (153) error on Windows

      Hi all,

I am attempting to use MAT 295 (*MAT_ANISOTROPIC_HYPERELASTIC) model on smp R13 (the distro released with ANSYS 2023 R2 installation package), on a Windows PC; and received the following error right after the keyword reader:

forrtl: severe (153): allocatable array or pointer is not allocated

The problem is specific raised from the keyword *MAT_ANISOTROPIC_HYPERELASTIC, as the model was tested extensively with other material models. Here I attach the keyword deck, units are mks.

Also as per instructed, I defined a coordinate system to use globally orthotropic feature AOPT=2.

Could anyone who has experiences with the keyword kindly come and help? Much appreciated.

      Hi,

The error probably indicates an issue with how the material model has been initialized during the simulation. Please see the following tips to hopefully fix the issue:

      • Check if all the required parameters for *MAT_295 have been provided and are consistent with the material model requirements as per LS-DYNA Keyword User’s Manual Vol. 2 (LSDYNA Manuals).
      • Change the solver to MPP. This solver often handles memory allocation differently and may avoid this problem.
      • Check the cards used in your input deck file using LS-Prepost (the “model check” feature in the keyword manager) or a similar tool to ensure there are no syntax errors.
      • Increase the memory allocation for the LS-DYNA using the *keyword card.
      • Consider using newer versions of the LS-DYNA solver, which are available at LS-DYNA (user=user) Download Page (Username: user & Password: computer).

I hope these suggestions are helpful.

      Thanks,

      Pedram
