SubscriberI would like to ask about Ansys AQWA's maneuvering simulation using user/external force. Is it required to define the hull, rudder, and propeller forces, or only the rudder and propeller forces?
Considering that there is an option to include maneuvering forces in hydrodynamic response settings, does it refer to the hull force? or does it mean something else?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
the maneuvering option includes the additional terms (force and moment) as per Newman's equation (number 116 from the Marine Hydrodynamic book).
I've googled it for you: https://home.hvl.no/ansatte/gste/ftp/MarinLab_files/Litteratur/Marine_Hydrodynamics_Newman_2018.pdf
Best regards,
Ingrid
