Forum ModeratorHi @hanisadek nCore loss is calculated using the core loss coefficient in maxwell.nFor most of the existing library materials, these coefficients are already calculated and available as shown in the material information.nBut, if you want to add new material, then you need to have the core loss versus frequency data (for at least two frequencies) data with you for that material - mostly provided by the material manufacturer. When you input this data while adding new material then Ansys Maxwell will calculate these core loss coefficient based on this data. More the curves you add more accurate the calculation of these coefficientsn

SubscriberHello Nayya, nThank you for your prompt response. nI'd like to add this material to the Motor-Cad Library. I thought my question was under the Motor-Cad Module. nYes, I know that this is how we add the material in Maxwell but it is a bit different I Motor-Cad. nThe figures below show the coefficients I need for Motor-Cad but I'm trying to figure out how to calculate these coefficients from the ones I have in the Maxwell Libraryn

Forum ModeratorHI @hanisadeknThe process in MotorCAD is also similar.nafter you enter the core loss data ( loss density vs flux density ) using insert Data points, click on update graph button, then click find coefficients button.nThis will automatically calculate all the core loss coefficients.nRefer Adding steel date section in MotorCAD help manual for more information and step-by-step process.nnRegards,nNavyan -

SubscriberThank you Nchode. nI got my question answered today in a live sessions from Ansys. nThe best way to import the core loss model is by adding the equivalent loss factors as shown in the image below. nBut I would appreciate your confirmation on that. n
One more thing to do is that I have to select Berlotti Maxwell in the Calculation Settings. nAs for the BH curve, I can export the data points from maxwell, open them in excel, copy them and then insert them in the Motor-Cad BH curve tab.Best Regards, nHanin
