Hello everyone,
I’m encountering an issue while using Ansys ROCKY 2024 R1 to simulate a vibrating container, and I hope to get some advice.
Problem Description:
I need to fix a layer of particles at the bottom of the vibrating container so that they remain stationary relative to the container during the vibration test. At the same time, these particles should retain their physical properties, such as elasticity and the ability to collide with other particles.
However, I haven’t been able to find a way to achieve this:
I looked for an option to make the bottom surface sticky but couldn’t find a related setting.
I also tried to configure the bottom layer of particles to stay stationary, but I couldn’t figure out how to do this either.
System Information:
Software version: Ansys ROCKY 2024 R1
Operating system: Windows 11
If anyone has dealt with a similar situation, could you please share how you managed to fix the bottom particles?
Is there a specific setting or feature that can achieve this?
Could this be done by adjusting the physical properties or through an alternative method?
Thank you very much for your help! -

If you fix the particles what will you learn from the simulation? Surely a better option would be to make sure gravity was on and see what the effect of the vibration on the particles is?

Thank you for your reply. I hope to fix a layer of particles at the bottom, so that the remaining particles above will not touch the bottom of the container during vibration. What I hope to observe is the changes of the particles above after vibration.
