Dears,
I'm applying a 3 steps simulation for a 3 bodies hip prothesis problem.
The 3 bodies are:
1. outer shell - deformable cocr (fixed);
2. inner shell (liner) - deformable polyethylene;
3. femoral stem - rigid
Positioned and the section view:
The 3 steps are:
1. 2 kN insertion force, applied to the femoral stem head;
2. Δ10ºC increasing the liner temperature;
3. 2000 Nmm moment, applied to the femoral stem head.
So far the simulation up to step 2 is okay, showing the stress results correctly.
Though when I apply the moment, the stress results show no reasonable number, not changing the stress result.
I've tried to decrease the force of the step 1, but it does not convergence in some point (which is okay because the bodies may lose contact), but the results are not correct.The expected behaviour was: the femoral stem to rotate, to touch the border of the liner, and to lever-out the liner from the outer shell, like the image below.
Am I applying the wrong conditions? What should I apply to the the expected behaviour?
Thank you in advance. -

Hi
As Ansys employees we are not allowed to download any files.
Perhaps other forum members can do that and hep out.
All the best
