Hi all,
I have a simple question I hope you can help with.
I often automate solution tasks by reading journal in Fluent in GUI mode. Sometimes I have the need to stop the solution process. Before (up to 2021R2 at least) stopping the computation (by either pressing the button on the GUI*, or with Ctrl+C) had the effect of stopping the execution of the journal. Now (2023R2) the behavior has changed and stopping the current iteration doesn't stop the execution of the journal, instead Fluent continue to the next command in the journal.
So far my workaround is to put an empty exit-fluent file in the workfolder, but this is really annoing. Is there a way to interrupt a journal execution in Fluent 2023R2? -

There's an enhancement in the system covering this - you're following the best approach at present.

Hi Rob, thank you for your reply.
So, no way to have back the old behavior by changing settings? Or no other way to stop the execution without going to subsequent commands?
When you talk about enhancements to the system you refer to future releases?
I would really refrain from calling the usage of the exit-fluent file as best approach, as this means that the session gets closed each time I have to stop a journal. Restarting the session, reloading the case, and the data, might be very time consuming for heavy models. -

At present there isn't a way of halting a journal. Other than lots of CTRL+C and hoping the journal finishes.
I appreciate the file size issue, and yes, future release. I can't comment on which release, nor whether there will be options in the newer PyFluent interface.
