Hello,
I'm encountering an issue when summing up total reflectance, absorption, and transmittance in a broadband FDTD simulation. The setup consists of three materials stacked over each other, with Material 1 (which is a metal) at the top, Material 2 in the middle, and Material 3 at the bottom.
When I calculate the total reflectance, absorbed power in Material 1, absorbed power in Material 2, and the transmittance into Material 3, the sum at a particular wavelength is not equal to 1.
I have tried using the optical power absorbed analysis with the Pabs_adv method to calculate the absorbed power individually for material 1 and material 2. I also used the script designed for higher accuracy in optical power absorption calculations for multiple materials from the Lumerical website. Additionally, I applied mesh override and adjusted buffer mesh settings to refine the simulation.
Despite these efforts, I am still facing the problem where the sum from all components is not equal to 1. I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue. Could there be an underlying factor I'm overlooking, especially considering the involvement of a metallic material?
Thank you!

Hello Sagar,
Sorry for delay in response. We missed this post. Can you also share the screenshot of the device you are simulating?
Also for me to undertand an recreate the simulation provide a bit more information of the simulation for examle, what is the end product.
Thanks and regards
Devika
