2 way fsi system coupling error

      Hello everyone,

I am simulating coriolis flowmeter on ansys, Coriolis flowmeter is a mass flow meter where a solid steel tube is used and bending vibration is provided at the bottom of the tube and phase difference is measured by sensors on the two limbs, when there is no flow, phase difference should be zero, when there is flow then some phase difference is detected. it is a 2 way fsi simulation for which i need to couple transient structural analysis and fluent analysis, because i need to provide displacement to the tube and this displacement is then transferred to the fluid then the force generated again transferred to the solid tube. When i perform simulation individually, then it works perfectly but when i couple them then it shows error that elements are highly distorted and need corrective action elsewhere. I tried changing the element sizes, timestep size, dynamic mesh settings but this error is not resoved. Kindly tell me how can I resolve it.

      Hi Nick
It is very important to build up the FSI simulation in stages as opposed to setting up the 2-way FSI right at the start. This document "Best Practices for Coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI)" describes this process and is available here: https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v221/en/sysc_ug/sysc_bestpractices_fsi.html
