When I calculated the Shear Modulus using the values you provided, I found it to be 45155.4 psi, which corresponds to 311 MPa. However, you indicated it as 617 MPa. Could there be a mistake in your calculation? 

 

The values I used are: L = 7.417, b = 1.985, t = 0.626, S = 1.062e+6.
