Hi,
There could be several reasons behind this issue:
– Geometry Issues: The part may have small features, slivers, or other geometry problems that make meshing difficult. You can check for any errors in the geometry using SpaceClaim and ensure that the geometry is error-free before proceeding with meshing (Check this out: Bad quality during block mesh).
– Meshing Parameters: Complex or overly refined meshing parameters might be causing the mesh generation to hang. Try using coarser mesh settings initially to see if the process completes; then refine gradually.
You can also try different meshing methods, such as using the patch independent method instead of patch conforming tetra or Multizone instead of Sweep. Adjusting the mesh sizes for parts that failed to mesh or removing mesh defeaturing may also help.
– Software Memory and CPU Load: Your computer might be running out of memory. Check your system’s memory and CPU usage to ensure there are enough resources available for meshing. If your computer has limited memory, the process might be stalling. You can monitor resources using Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac).
– Software Update: Sometimes, a software bug could be causing the issue. Ensure your version of Ansys Mechanical is up-to-date, as newer versions often contain bug fixes and performance improvements.
I hope this information helps.
Thanks,
Pedram
