Hi,

It is not compulsory to use blackbox licensing. Blackbox licensing just give the flexibility of using non-GUI licenses without tying additional GUI licenses.

Blackbox mode can be set either in the Ini file or in Environment Variable. At the moment, yes, you have have to change the variable to switch between GUI and Blackbox.

Please check with your Ansys Account Manager for what licenses you are eligible for.

Additionally, I would recommend the tutorials folder that comes with the installation of Motor-CAD. There is a detailed pdf for Ansys BlackBox Licensing and additional tutorials on optiSlang.
