If it's a vacuum system you'll break most flow solvers as they're designed to work in the continuum regime. But from what you want to model that may be something you can neglect.Â
You've got some reading to do:
- Ansys Fluent's Eulerian Granular model could work, with three phases and a phase mass transfer function to move solid to liquid phases.Â
- Ansys Rocky is a DEM solver, with some SPH functionality. The granular heating is OK, but I'm less sure how well it'll cope with the particle count and how the melt flows.Â
Not really a good starting project!Â
