Hi P fey,Â
To track rays in an SBR+ simulation, you can utilize the Visual Ray Trace (VRT) feature in HFSS, which allows you to set a launching point for rays at the location of a Tx antenna and observe their interactions with the target and reception by an Rx antenna. The process involves setting up variables for antenna placement, enabling the Shoot UTD rays feature, and analyzing ray statistics post-simulation to understand the role of multi-bounce and other mechanisms.
1. Visual Ray Trace (VRT) Setup:
- Set the launching point for a VRT plot at the location where an antenna will be used.Â
- Create variables to control antenna placement and apply them to a relative coordinate system or point for VRT plots.Â
- Enable the Shoot UTD rays feature to make use of the SBR+ PTD/UTD capabilities.Â
Understanding Ray Interactions:
- Use ray statistics to summarize the ray tracing performed during SBR+ simulations, which include multi-bounce, UTD, and creeping-wave mechanisms.
- Ray statistics are reported cumulatively for all Tx antennas and are found in the profile after an SBR+ run.Â
Thanks,
