Known issue and Temporary solution

/ Issue
Boot delays and 3rd-Party software installation(using yum command) failures may occur when deploying Linux VMs to the APAC region.
 
/ Cause of Issue
Due to changes in the CentOS repositories (mirrorlist.centos.org -> linuxsoft.cern.ch), the EMEA repositories are now referenced, so in APAC regions with high network latency (>200ms) via various yum packages to be installed take longer to install or time out.

/ Temporary solution

 

 

 

  1. If you have configured a DNS Firewall, add following list to the allow list.
    • list(*1)
