You may use an RCWA field monitor to record the field distribution. You should see it in the drop-down options in "Monitors". You may record the field in 3D as well. I haven't really used it a lot. But I have heard feedback from my colleagues that the RCWA monitors reduce the simulation speed significantly. So, I would recommend using it when it is essential.
