Hi Iheanyi,  I am experiencing exactly the same problem above. To set the environment variable in Linux, you would normally use:

export ANSYS_RPC_LOCALACCESSONLY=1

in your terminal or job-script. However, I just tried that and the problem persists. 

You said above: "I finally got it to work on one of the university machines." - how did you get it to work? Any what version of Ansys are you using?
