Profiles can be used to transfer the data from one model to another, but in this case you'll need to take care to adjust the position of the profile: ie the x, y, and z coordinates will need adjusting. 

Periodic flow is another consideration, please read the limitations in both flow and energy sections of the Fluent User's Guide.
