So as you mentioned, I've tried to model the geometry as a solid geometry (using pull option in Spaceclaim), but I still cannot capture the crack using semi-elliptical (Tetrahedron mesh), pre-meshed or arbitrary crack. The message I receive here is that the mesher fails to generate mesh.
