How to Define Temperature-dependent Convection — Lesson 2

As one of the three modes of heat transfer, convection is very common and can be found in both our daily lives and engineering applications. Although convection is a complex process involving both advection and diffusion, it is reduced to a boundary condition controlled by two parameters, if using a conduction-based solver. These two parameters are the bulk temperature and film coefficient. Although the film coefficient may be dependent on many factors, having a temperature-dependent film coefficient is common in thermal analyses.
