Patching a temperature in a shell conduction zone initially leads to unreasonable temperature values on the shell surfaces, when continuing the Ansys Fluent software run in transient mode.
Make sure that you set the solver mode to transient before you patch the shell conduction zone. Let’s suppose you did a steady run to provide good initial data for a successive transient run. And lets further suppose you want to patch a shell conduction zone with a certain temperature on this steady solution. Then your next step should be to set the solver to transient mode before you do the patching.
