Feature Operations - Lesson 4

Geometry can be created and edited using scripting in Ansys Discovery. We can use scripting operations to mimic feature operations within the software. Say you have a large model assembly, and you don’t want to manually select and edit all the features - You can set up a script to accomplish these operations.

This lesson focuses on scripting commands associated with geometry creation and the movement and position of those created objects. It also includes a workshop to get hands-on experience with feature operations.

The following topics are covered in this lesson:

  • Creating a cylinder, cone, and block
  • Making copies of an object
  • Translating and rotating an object
  • Cleaning and simplifying geometry
