Modal Analysis in Ansys Mechanical
We often take for granted the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the equipment and structures that we use in our daily lives. If natural frequencies of vibration are excited during normal operation, equipment performance can be negatively impacted and ultimately failure can occur. However, some devices, like piezoelectric transducers, are intentionally designed to excite natural frequencies as part of their normal operation.
Whether the intention is to avoid or excite natural frequencies of vibration, it is critical to understand what these frequencies are as part of a comprehensive structural analysis. Also, given that structures have many natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes, how are we to determine which frequencies are most important?
This course will explore these questions and offer some insightful tips to help the finite element analyst get the most out of an FEA Modal Simulation as quickly as possible.
