This course offers a comprehensive exploration into the design and analysis of bent waveguides in photonic integrated circuits using various Lumerical tools. Starting with foundational knowledge on how mode shapes change in waveguide bends and the significance of these changes, the lesson takes participants through a journey of advanced simulation and modeling techniques. Each video focuses on a specific Lumerical tool, ranging from FEEM, Mode, FDTD, to EME, demonstrating their unique capabilities in handling bent waveguide designs. By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with practical skills to design, simulate, and analyze the performance of bent waveguides using a suite of Lumerical tools.
