Introduction to Fuzzy Logic Controller — Lesson 1

Fuzzy logic is a mathematical framework for dealing with uncertainty and imprecision in complex systems, where Boolean logic does not work. With fuzzy logic, we can have varying degrees of truth, unlike absolute true or false values. The fuzzy sets, where membership values range between 0 and 1, represent the extent to which an object belongs to a set. Fuzzy logic is applied widely in control systems, such as washing machines, which interpret imprecise instructions to optimize performance. Fuzzy logic is flexible to handle the vagueness inherent in human language and perception, like complex models and human reasoning.
