Radiation Pattern over Frequency of a Half-Wave Dipole - Lesson 3

This lesson introduces the variation seen in the far-field radiation pattern of a dipole antenna as the driving frequency changes.  At the frequency where the length of the antenna is equal to half a wavelength, the antenna radiates a single-lobed pattern focused broadside to the length of the antenna, but the number of lobes and strength of the radiation varies greatly with frequency.  We will look at the equations that describe this variation, and also at several illustrative plots. This lesson is part of the Ansys Innovation Course: Frequency Characteristics of the Half-Wave Dipole.
